Doing the whole book

  1. Split by chapter. Full-cast chapters stay under 8,000 characters, so split long ones; long-form jobs take up to 50,000, so several short chapters can go together.
  2. Start a series. Get chapter one's cast right, then add it to a new series. Every later chapter gives returning characters the same voice.
  3. Render chapter by chapter. Each gives you an MP3 and SRT; failed renders are refunded. Everything lands in My works in order.
  4. Spot-check. Listen for names, invented words and acronyms. Respell anything misread in the text (phonetically if needed) and render that chapter again; shorter chapters make fixes cheaper.

Before you publish

  • Rights. Audio rights to a published novel usually sit with the publisher or author; without them you can't sell the audiobook. Your own books and public-domain classics (like those in the theater) are fine.
  • AI disclosure. Every file carries an AI-generated label in its metadata. Stores have their own rules for AI narration; check them before you upload.
  • Sample first. Share a chapter or two and ask readers whether the voices fit the characters before rendering the rest.

FAQ

One narrator or a full cast? Literary fiction, non-fiction and anything carried by narration suits one narrator: the long-form mode takes up to 50,000 characters at a time with one voice and one subtitle track. Dialogue-heavy genre fiction suits a full cast: the audio drama studio takes up to 8,000 characters per chapter and gives the narrator and every character a voice. Both have the same standard rate, 70 credits per 1,000 characters; a single narrator on the Flash model is 40.

What does a whole novel cost? A 90,000-word novel is about 500,000 characters: 35,000 credits, about 9.7 hours of audio, roughly $280–410 at monthly-plan rates. Both modes are 70 credits per 1,000 characters; a single narrator on the Flash model is 40, about 20,000 credits for the book.

How do characters keep the same voice in every chapter? With a full cast, add the first chapter to a series. Each chapter you render teaches the series its cast, and the next chapter gives every returning character the same voice; newcomers get their own.

Can I publish the audiobook? Yes, if you hold the audio rights: your own book, a licensed one, or a public-domain classic. Every file carries an AI-generated label in its metadata; follow your store's rules for disclosing AI narration.

What do I download? An MP3 and a line-timed SRT per chapter; a full-cast chapter also exports its script and a vertical video. Everything is kept in My works.
