About this story
《小美人鱼》（经典译名《海的女儿》）是丹麦作家安徒生 1837 年发表的童话，讲海王最小的女儿爱上人间的王子，用声音换来一双腿的故事。这个睡前版保留了原著的结局：她不肯伤害王子，化作泡沫后成了“空气的女儿”；但去掉了她每走一步都像踩在刀尖上的疼痛描写，姐姐们送刀的一段也讲得更轻。

真正的爱，是希望对方幸福，而不是把对方据为己有。小人鱼宁可自己失去一切，也不肯伤害别人，这份善良让她得到了新的生命。

Tips for telling it
- 结尾有些伤感，讲到小人鱼把刀扔进大海时放慢，留一点安静，再讲她飞上天空。
- 可以问孩子：如果你是小人鱼，会不会用声音去换一双腿？
- 小人鱼不能说话以后，可以和孩子玩一玩只用表情和手势“说话”的游戏。
