About this story
《美女与野兽》是法国童话。1740 年，维伦纽夫夫人写出了最早的长篇版本；1756 年，博蒙夫人把它改写成给孩子读的短篇，后来流传的版本大多以她这一篇为底本。这一版保留了博蒙版里摘玫瑰、每晚九点的求婚、魔戒指和失约的情节。博蒙原著里，两个姐姐被好仙女变成石像立在宫殿门口，要等她们真心悔改才能变回来；这里改成了一顿严厉的教训。
