The Cold Palace Wine I Won't Drink is a VoiceSmiths original palace-intrigue episode, written in 2026 as an opening chapter for audio and performed by a full cast of five voices. It is the English version of our Chinese gongdou episode, with the same cast and voices. Jiang Wan, a deposed consort, has spent a hundred days in the cold palace when her rival, Consort Liu, arrives with poisoned wine she claims the Emperor sent. Jiang Wan exposes the fake pregnancy that brought her down and the Emperor walks in, but Liu's last words, as she is dragged away, point at him.
